Before diving into the details, let’s start with a map of the park. Hong Kong Disneyland Park is divided into seven themed areas:

Hong Kong Disneyland : Main Street, U.S.A.

The Main Street U.S.A. buildings at Hong Kong Disneyland are designed exactly like those at Disneyland in California, but with added stories that reflect the park’s Hong Kong location. The area resembles a small American town from the 20th century and is home to the best souvenir shops, including the popular Emporium. In Hong Kong, Tsum Tsums, Ufufy plush stuffed animals, and Duffy are extremely popular. Visitors can even spot Duffy, ShellieMay, Gelatoni, and StellaLou inside the Main Street Cinema store. As for rides and attractions, there are options like Animation Academy, Art of Animation, and the Hong Kong Disneyland Railroad – Main Street U.S.A. Station.

One of the highlights of visiting Disneyland is the food. The Corner Cafe offers a decent selection of pasta, salads, set menus, and afternoon tea, although it’s nothing extraordinary. For a quick bite, Market House Bakery is a great option with tasty pastries and sandwiches. It also houses a Starbucks that sells Hong Kong Disneyland branded mugs, perfect for collectors. If you’re craving table service Cantonese cuisine, including excellent dim sum, Plaza Inn is the place to go. This establishment is run by the popular brand Jade Garden and also features Chinese comfort food from Cha Cha Room.

Hong Kong Disneyland : Fantasyland

Walking from Main Street U.S.A. into the Hong Kong Disneyland castle will lead you directly into Fantasyland, a place where young children will experience pure joy and where the rides are conveniently located close to each other. The rides and attractions in Fantasyland include Cinderella’s Carousel, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Fairytale Forest presented by PANDORA, Hong Kong Disneyland Railroad – Fantasyland Station, “it’s a small world” (known for its fast-moving line), Mad Hatter Tea Cups, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Mickey’s PhilharMagic (a delightful 4D show recommended for younger kids), and the Sword in the Stone (which sometimes features Disney characters and otherwise showcases a fake sword in a stone). In Fantasy Gardens, visitors can meet and greet their favorite characters in shaded pagodas scattered throughout the garden. A photographer is available on-site to capture professional photos for purchase, but they can also take photos using your own camera.

For dining options, the Royal Banquet Hall is a great choice with its four stations offering a variety of cuisines including grill, Japanese, Guangdong, and international. We had a pleasant experience here during our last visit, especially enjoying the dim sum, sushi, and other delicious offerings. On the other hand, Clopin’s Festival of Food, which serves mediocre Chinese cuisine, can be skipped. Clopin’s usually showcases mock dishes at the entrance to give you an idea of what their food looks like. If you’re craving Asian cuisine, I highly recommend the Explorer’s Club at Mystic Point, although they do not serve Chinese food. Lastly, don’t miss out on the fantastic ice cream stand near the exit of “it’s a small world,” although please note that it may not always be open.

Hong Kong Disneyland : Adventureland

If you’re a Disney enthusiast, you’ll be thrilled to discover that this Adventureland is the largest among all the Disney Parks. Here, you can enjoy various rides and attractions such as the Jungle River Cruise, where signs indicate the appropriate queue based on your preferred language. The Karibuni Marketplace is a popular spot for characters to hang out, and Liki Tikis is an interactive water play area rather than a ride. Additionally, you can take rafts to Tarzan’s Treehouse and explore its wonders. For dining options, there are two snack carts selling Korean squid, turkey legs, and other snacks, as well as a selection of fresh-cut fruit. If you’re looking for quick-service Southeast Asian cuisine, the Tahitian Terrace is the perfect choice.

Hong Kong Disneyland : Tomorrowland

Once you leave Main Street U.S.A., take a right turn and you will find yourself in Tomorrowland. In this area, you can enjoy various rides and attractions such as Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle!, Hyperspace Mountain (a Star Wars-themed version of Space Mountain), Iron Man Experience, Orbitron, and Star Wars Command Post. Tomorrowland is currently undergoing significant changes and is home to the park’s most popular ride. Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! is the first attraction to showcase these Marvel superheroes and also the first-ever Disney Park attraction to feature a female Super Hero as the main character. This ride replaces Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and involves shooting at targets to achieve the highest score. As for closures, besides Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Autopia was removed to make space for the Iron Man Experience. It’s a bit unfortunate because I quite enjoyed the experience of driving on the right-hand side, unlike in the United States where we drive on the left. If you’re looking for a great meal, Starlight Diner is the go-to place in the park for delicious burgers, chicken fingers, and other classic American-style food.

Hong Kong Disneyland : Toy Story Land

This land is inspired by the beloved Toy Story movies and conveniently situated next to Fantasyland. The rides and attractions include Barrel of Fun, RC Racer, Slinky Dog Spin (a must for young children), and Toy Soldier Parachute Drop (known for its impressive view, but be prepared for a slow-moving line). Before boarding Toy Soldier Parachute Drop, you’ll be asked to store your handbags and belongings in a cubby. If you have a smartphone on a neck strap or a securely attached GoPro, you can capture a fantastic view right before the parachute drops (depending on weather conditions).

As for dining options, Jessie’s Snack Roundup is the only available spot here. They offer various drinks and snack foods, including soft serve with boba. The snack menu may change periodically, but on our last visit, we enjoyed the pineapple freeze drink with pandan flavoring and soft serve, which is reminiscent of Dole Whip. We always make it a point to stop here for the delightful desserts.

Hong Kong Disneyland : Grizzly Gulch

Grizzly Gulch is Hong Kong Disneyland’s rendition of Frontierland, capturing the essence of the 19th-century Wild West. Despite its small size, the standout attraction is the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars, a thrilling roller coaster reminiscent of Disneyland Anaheim’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Personally, this ride holds a special place in my heart and serves as the perfect introduction to roller coasters for younger children. It’s worth noting that even those who are initially apprehensive about roller coasters have thoroughly enjoyed this experience. What sets it apart is the transition from a fast forward speed to a manageable yet exhilarating backward speed at one point. Additionally, the ride’s launch is undeniably impressive. The remaining parts of Grizzly Gulch can be explored briskly. Other attractions include Geyser Gulch and Wild West Photo Fun. When it comes to dining options, there is a popcorn cart and a snack outlet available.

Hong Kong Disneyland : Mystic Point

Mystic Point is a unique addition to Hong Kong Disneyland, exclusively found in this park. The main attraction here is Mystic Manor, a thrilling ride similar to the famous Haunted Mansion but with its own captivating storyline and advanced special effects. This land is set in the heart of a dense and unexplored rainforest in Papua New Guinea, where mysterious forces and supernatural events unfold. It is also the residence of Lord Henry Mystic, the daring explorer who resides in the enchanting Mystic Manor.

Aside from Mystic Manor, Mystic Point offers other attractions such as the Garden of Wonders and the Mystic Point Freight Depot, which provides an interactive experience for children to explore.

When it comes to dining options, The Explorer’s Club Restaurant stands out as the best choice in Hong Kong Disneyland. Here, you can find a variety of cuisines from Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Southeast Asian, all available at different counter-order stations. Whether you crave Hainanese chicken rice or your child desires a bento box, this restaurant caters to diverse tastes. The only slight inconvenience is that you may need to queue twice if you desire different cuisines. The restaurant also boasts five themed dining rooms inspired by different parts of the world, and all dishes on the menu are Halal-certified.
